According to the Center for Disease Control, children should get two doses of the vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12, through 15 months of age. The second dose should be given between 4 to 6 years of age. Even adults and teens should stay up to date with their MMR vaccination to prevent the disease.

The MMR vaccine is safe, tested, and is an effective measure to keep measles, mumps, and rubella at bay. Two doses of the vaccine make it 97 per cent effective, while one dose makes it 93 per cent effective.
