I know the name sounds foreign, but in reality BUTH is in plateau state Nigeria. Bingham University Teaching Hospital is the second teaching hospital in Jos to make this list.

It was opened in 1959 and was initially known as the ECWA Evangel Hospital. BUTH has about 250 beds.

When it was launched, it was mainly operated by missionaries. It wasn’t until 1975, about 15 years after independence that the Plateau state government took charge of the teaching hospital.

However, it was changed from Evangel hospital to a teaching hospital in 2010. Today, you’ll find mainly Nigerian workers at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital.

What’s presently UNIOSUN teaching hospital was formerly known as LAUTECH teaching hospital.

Before the renaming in 2020, the teaching hospital was owned by Oyo and Osun state. Now, it’s solely owned by the Osun state government.

As a result, the hospital is no longer affiliated with LAUTECH but with UNIOSUN. You’ll find the University of Osun Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, the capital city.

Among all the teaching hospitals on this list, the Imo State University Teaching Hospital is about the latest.

This is because the hospital was created just in 2002. As you would know, the teaching hospital is affiliated to Imo State University in Owerri, the state capita.

It was established the same year in which the IMSU College of medicine obtained Preclinical accreditation.
