“BABA oh, there is no one else beside You, no other one but You”, according to the lyrics is a cry to God for help and a call for mercy.
The word “Baba” is a usual way Nigerians and some African countries used to refere as “My Father.”
Here, Dunsin Oyekan, who is a Nigerian talented gospel singer, preacher and pastor referred God as his father. He called Him “Baba” just to show his personal relationship with God like we call our biological fathers.
However, according to the songwriter, “Your life changes when you realise that God is not only God, He is also your Father.
Because many of us carry painful memories of our earthly fathers, we instinctively project those wounds onto God and expect Him to act the same way.
Yet the Bible reveals God as a Father in whom there is no inconsistency, no shortcoming, no limitations. A Father whose love is perfect.
āBabaā is an invitation to be vulnerable with the One who created you in His image.
Scripture says, āEvery good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change.ā Let this song minister to you the truth of Godās Fatherhood.
Embrace the knowledge that He delights in giving good gifts to His children, and you, dearly beloved, are counted among His children.
Today, shake off the orphan mindset that breeds fear and keeps you distant. Stop waiting for Him to disappoint you; He never will. Instead, as you revel in the assurance that you have been adopted into an eternal family, enter the Fatherās warm embrace and find total satisfaction.
Open your heart, hallow His name, and call out: āFather! Abba! Baba!ā
“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, āAbba,[a] Father”. Romans 8:15 NKJV
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name” Matthew 6:9 NKJV
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him” Matthew 7:11 NKJV.” Hellelujah!!!
