According to The Billboard Book Of Number 1 Hits, when choosing which song should be Get Rich or Die Tryin’s lead single, Eminem favored “If I Can’t”.
But when 50 asked Dre for his opinion, he opted for “In da Club” instead. After a coin toss, “In da Club” was chosen.
“In da Club” was loved by music critics and fans alike, propelling the song to #1 in seven countries including the US in the spring of 2003.
Eventually the song was certified platinum in four countries. It is one of 50 Cent’s most recognizable and well-known songs.
