End Of The Year Resolutions: New Year Resolutions Ideas

New Year resolutions ideas? Are you aware that, the end of this year 2020 is the beginning of 2021 (new one) with new possibilities? I strongly believe that you are aware of that.

Though the year 2020 came with so many ups and downs. Covid-19 pandemic crippled  a lot of activities this year. But as for me, it’s a wake-up call that one needs to be ready at all times. Uncertainty, which is the enemy of investment, can set in at any given time.

Despite the fact that a lot of us survived it, the year 2020 actually it’s never an easy one. A lot of us were stripped naked – no food, no finance, no help, lockdown, protest, recession etc.

However, the year 2021 is here and we usually make New Year resolutions to change our undesired habits, accomplish new goals and improve our life.

While making new resolutions, most people mainly focused on health – such as to eat better, exercise more, quit smoking, maintaining a single partner for sex, lose weight and all the rest of them.

We will be all excited and determined to achieve the set goals, but this excitement often fades after a few weeks and end up breaking our resolutions again.

Remember health is our biggest wealth, and there is nothing in our life that is more valuable than good health. So, don’t compromise your health for anything. Did you hear that…………? Thank you.

Before you start chasing your newly set goals, here are some New Year resolutions ideas you should not think of breaking this 2021.

Be Grateful For The Gift Of Life

This is the most important one among the rest, to be thankful. Can the dead be think of New Year resolutions? Is there any second chance for them to write down or list what to do or what not to do in 2021?

Please if you’re alive to witness 2021, then be thankful reason because you’re not better than those that kicked the bucket. Remember, appreciation is an application for more.

Therefore, be grateful for the gift of life first.

Calm Down & Get Enough Sleep

“Mama please calm down” and relax. Are you aware that sleep deprivation may increase your risk of weight gain, heart disease, and depression?

Don’t delay or shorten your sleep timing for the sake of completing that Game of The Throne, Lion heart, Zeeworld and other movie series or that classic football match.

If you have sleep problem, look for ways to improve sleep quantity and quality. Sleep requirements vary from person to person, but a healthy adult need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night.

Make Exercise Your Daily Routine Despite Your Job

You could imagine what the Covid-19 did to our workout routine the year 2020. Many were begging for an opportunity to exercise even for 10 minutes and so many too lost interest in exercising.

I know you want to get back to your workout routine this year 2021 and the opportunity is now. If you have a desk job, you might be sitting more and moving less.

Sitting for long hours can have negative effects on health. But don’t let your job take toll on your health. Try to balance both by making a resolution to go short walks in between.

Take a 15-minutes walk at lunch or 5-minutes walking break after every hour.

Cut Down On Sugary Drinks

Sugary drinks can increase risk of obesity, heart disease, insulin resistance, and cavities. It may sound unachievable but “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.

Start today by cutting one item from the list of your favourite sugary beverages and gradually minimize your intake in general. Remember, water is more healthier than that sugary drinks of yours.

Spend Less Time On Screen

Spending too much time in front of the screen, like phones, computers and TV, has been linked to depression, anxiety, and loneliness.

Set a resolution to limit your screen time and spend more time outdoors. This will help improve your health by relieving stress, elevating mood, and even lowering blood pressure.

Hydrate Yourself And Learn New skill

Our body contains about 70% of water, which helps transport nutrients and vitamins to give us energy, remove waste, and regulate our body temperature.

It’s important to drink enough fresh clean water every day because dehydration can make you more vulnerable to infections and illnesses especially during work out.

Don’t wait until you are thirsty – by that time, you’ll be probably already dehydrated. The good idea is to include a bottle of fresh water in your bag.

Also, in the year 2020, you may have been planning to acquire one skill or another just to equip yourself. So therefore, don’t let this very year 2021 to pass you by.

Learning a new skill has a way of keeping you engaged and help you reduced too much eating (which may lead to obesity), depression and loneliness.

In general, learning new skill can improve your general well-being and will also create more connections for you as well.
